Ceramic Tile Installations

These photos are from 2 design jobs which were older home rennovations. Each took a decidedly different approach in design style. A homeowner's input and style preferences are considered in the concept suggestions made to them for each project as well as budget and time contraints. Similarly shaped tiles create two totally opposite design views. The two traditional photos show a Tuscany style of aged ceramic tile. The accent border in the shower was created by using the same tiles, but in a different size and layout. The flooring is again the same product, but in square design laid on the diagonal. The more sleek modern bath also uses a large vertical ceramic tile layout for the shower walls. This tile has a subdued stria line, but the accent border is a glass mosaic tile which is quite reflective, new and mod.

Kitchen Remodel
This kitchen was not a PLANNED event, but was due to a leak! Well, if you have to do MOST of a room, why not do it all new! This family loves blue, water and light. It was designed to add the blue to the room. They choose to continue with white cabinets similar to what they had before, but we added a dark, almost black flooring with a ground quartz countertop that was flecked with reflective blue. Clouded mosaic tile for the backsplash completed the look by bringing the blue to life, but in a subtle way.

COLOR for those who LOVE it!

What color can do for a room is absolutely amazing!!! In this first photo, fabric and wall color are created based on the art on the wall. The sofa fabric and the tone of the wall enhance and pull those colors forward in the art. The second photo reveals a close up of the fabric and rods. The wall color for this room was inspired by the fabric. The last two photos are on the softer side of life. This is a guest bedroom/bath that utilizes 3 wallpapers with custom window treatments and shower curtain that feature this soft subtle pink. PINK is the color of 2011 according to Sherwin Williams paint experts. Because of such, you may have seen LOTS of PINK in varying shades in both clothing and home décor during this year.

Red is the inspiration!
New home to you? Ready for a new look? Peruse these photos with me to see how Red can be dominate or subdued in the same room setting. The room with soft green/grayed walls and a golden brown sofa with strong red in the art - lovely! Then bring your eyes to the rug with its bricked red and wooden blocks featured as the sofa tables. Next, view the softened red mixed in the trim on the pillows and finally a close up of the art featured birds in a twigged frame. We can start with whatever you want. Find something that you are in "love" with and we can build your room around that item.

CREATIVE IDEAS

White mantle, white framed art and white crown moldings all work together to make a bold statement with a pale citrus wall tone. To make your collectibles show up even more in your shelving - paint the back a color as in this second photo. How about an ARTWALK? Doesn't it appear that these figurines actually just walked out of the painting! Multi-colored chairs were the creative point for this room as we selected a color that was NOT predominate to feature as our wall and accent tone to create a totally new, modern look for this living room. Remember to allow your home decor to reflect the inner you!!!

Custom MIXED awesome furniture!!!
What an amazing collection of furniture! How about this beautiful view from above of this custom chaise by HAUTE HOUSE that we created for my client. With this company, you select the fabric and trim MIXTURE until it meets whatever luxurious vision you have in mind. The second photo shows a KRAVET custom sofa (first sofa on the left) that my client has owned for several that we RE-UPHOLSTERED to fit our new vision for this room in a somewhat similar style to our new pieces. (Just a reminder that Kravet creates a product that will last and last.) This is our 3rd fabric covering.) The loveseat is also a product we designed through Haute House. I've shown a couple of close ups so that you can see the fabric mixture. IF this look is YOU, please contact me so I can assist you in creating this drama whether with new product or re-doing pieces that you already own.

SIMPLE Custom Window Treatments

SIMPLE window styles! The first one is a pleated valance created with an upward point in the center which has been accessorized with soft colored tieback cords draped acrossed it. It is board mounted and clean and simple in style. It was used in a sitting area of a master bedroom. The second one is actually an office for which we covered the chairs in a fun and exciting fabric. I created custom valances for the windows which are finished off with a tassel on the end points. This photo was made even before we removed the plastic from the new lamp which I also provided (an Uttermost creation). The last two were custom window treatments made CLOSE to the door and window. The first swag was attached by something similar to a push pin. The second was attached to small cup hooks, not even visible. Notice the detail of the fabirc covered buttons on this treatment.
